Plain-language summary of how BldrScope works. Last updated October 2026.
This page explains what BldrScope collects and who sees it. BldrScope is a product of Northwoods Estimating & Preconstruction in Leelanau County, Michigan.
What we collect
- The plan PDF you upload, and the pages and text extracted from it.
- The choices you make: state, project type, the edits to rates and lines.
- A random access token, stored in a cookie in your browser, that tells us you have a paid estimate.
- Payment confirmation from Stripe (that a payment succeeded and its reference). We never see or store your card number.
- Basic server logs such as time and errors.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your information.
Who processes it
- OpenAI. Images and text from your plan pages are sent to OpenAI through its API so the plans can be read. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models by default. See OpenAI's own policies for details.
- Stripe. Handles payment. Its privacy policy applies to the payment details you give it.
- Render. Hosts the application and stores the working files.
How long we keep it
Working files and results are kept for as long as needed to deliver and support your estimate, and we delete uploaded plans on a regular schedule or when you ask. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
To see or delete what we hold about your estimate, email support@bldrscope.com with the date of your purchase. Do not upload plans you are not allowed to share with a service provider.
Cookies
We use one functional cookie that records your estimate credit. We do not use advertising cookies.
Changes
We will update this page if what we do changes.
